WHOA AN UPDATE!!

First of all, Thanks for your comments, notes and good words in my absence tho' i have not been actively here, i try to be aware of what happens around- AND I'M BACK!

Many things have kept me from updating or commenting and the most important was Health; when you are into this comic thing sometimes you may forget your body and NOT your computer is your instrument . Last week i had a surgery and everything went well, i'm in recovery as of now doing not much work in what seems to be the last New Warriors issue i'll be doing, Paco Medina, Juan Vlasco and your poop-friend Marte will move to another title and (thank god) will stick together as a team, i love working with this guys.

Yesterday was the Free Comic Book Day and for second year in a row some of my work is there!
On Marvel's free issue, Francisco Ruiz-Velasco and i did a cool Iron Man + Spiderman + Hulk short story which is the prologue to those AMAZING 3D videos Marvel released couple months ago [link] (sorry i couldn't find the original marvel's link).
I hope you had the chance to get sum free comics, free comics are always WIN.

Hercules is doing great!
I love that book, i love coloring mythical gods, i love to have the chance of coloring Marvel's BEAR character HAHAHAHA-.
Right now we are working on Hercules 118, cool pages all around, expect the best!

And decided to pick up my pencils again, i feel empty if i don't draw, managed to sketch sum short strips, so expect some new art. OH AND AN UPCOMING COLORING TUTORIAL!
On my last journal theres a link to a video that shows (with very poor quality, blame googlevideo) sum coloring on an old piece, this was a test of how to use the program and not the actual tutorial. hope you enjoy it.

Hallo Everyone!

I was cleaning my livingroom yesterday dusting off everything on tabletop, remotes, porn dvd's, ashtrays and what not, when under sum other dvds i found my long forgotten DS. Since i'm a tech freak my PSP is a favorite among portables, but i love my DS which i sadly use only to play castlevania and brainage//sodoku.

I'm in the need for some good games, i like plataforms and 2D side scrollers, do you have a recommendation for a lonely gamer?

I can't believe its been more than 2 months since my last update.

SO MANY things happened during this time, incredible redefining stuff.
As usual i had a shit load of work but i loved it as the workaholik whore that i am.

The first and very important news is that i am now an independent colourist, i form no longer part of Studio F for a bunch of good reasons, but what matters is that it was a smooth departure and we are all good friends, Studio F was one of the most important stages in my life and will remain tattooed in my (cracked//crumbling) heart for life.

I am still working with Marvel Comics and will keep colouring New Warriors as long as my hands are attached to my body, i just love that book!!!!

I will no longer be doing Marvel Adventures Iron Man but instead i'll be painting HERCULES in the Hulk regular series from issue 116 and forth, i will see you there!

Warbound is another title im working on regularly but its just a miniseries, Rafa Sandoval who pencils this beautiful book will be doing Hercules, so expect great quality art for this series-

Lately i have been really busy and i feel near a nervous breakdown (xD) but i just love comics.

Follow your dreams and when you are there keep them healthy, so they won't become nightmares.

OK, i knew it would happen anytime soon, my 360 was really old, one of the first models.

Today i went to the game store and bought BEAUTIFUL KATAMARI (fukken love katamari)
and HEAVENLY SWORD(it's awesome), i colored all my pages really fast this evening so i could have some extra time to play my games tonight.... but just when i was doing the tutorial level with the King of all Cosmos as my guide, the screen froze and it gave me the RED RING OF DEAD.

My xbox its dead. he was jealous of the HUEG PS3 monster beside him.

u__u i will never get to play katamari.



So the question is, is it worth to fix it (i've heard bad stuff about microsoft's support and i have no warranty anyway) or should i get a new 360 with HDMI?

FUCKING SUCKS.

Theres a little whiteboard hanging at Studio F where we keep control of schedules and things like that (most times is covered with cartoon doodles xD). OCTOBERFUCK was the title on last month's schedule, holy fucking Cthulhu we had a huge load of work.

A bunch of comics are being done at the same time at the studio (i'm guessing seven or nine), and each one of them had deadlines in October including some extra titles. The workload was so big it extended thru' November for some titles ..... im working on 4 of them right now!! .

So far i have finished 2 of 4, and i hate this cause i really care about doing good quality stuff, but you know, sometimes is fckn hard.

74 pages!

HhAHAhahahaha, but luckily managed to have some good dinners with friends everytime possible and PLEASE pay a visit to who is doing all the flats of the books im colouring, he's working hard like a satanist doing evil! THANKYOU XOLO!

It's been ages since the last update in this journal

I just wanted to say hi and let you know how is everything around here-

Hmm, a shitload of work is in my doorstep... New Warriors and Iron Man Adv have to be finished this month and i don't think i'm gonna make it, but its my job to make that happen. i love drama.

My cat deimos is clean again, he had this dread-like hairballs on his back, i dunno where i got them, but he really looked like a hobo.

Oh, i wish i could extend this journal more but i have no life to tell you about it and fill it.

1. I don't recognize myself in the mirror... it's like looking at someone else's reflection.
2. It's been a month since i have slept in my bed, my cat Deimos decided to use it as his king size litter box, therefore, it's now in the city dump; So i've been sleeping in the floor and i'm too lazy for like getting a new mattress.
3. I don't like crowded places, specially movie theaters.(or malls, but shopping is necessary sometimes)
4. I came out as a gay dude to one of my brothers on MSN Messenger. LOL.
5. Martegod is really stoned as he types this.
6. I am the youngest of 4 boys in the family. Everyone but me is married now, my nephews rock, the oldest of them is a clone of myself, physically and mentally, poor boy.
7. I sleep naked. and remain naked all day if i'm by myself at my apt.
8. I feel so uninteresting as i type this.

Some of the people who usually take a look to my gallery and read my journals know about my cats, Phobos and Deimos, two little brother cats who arrived to my house a rainy night(true fact) in the middle of a party just to stay for ever with me. They were so young we had to feed them baby kitten food, and 2 years have passed since that.

i realized Life is just cruel when i found Phobos corpse under the stairs that go to my apt.
i really dunno how he died and picking him up from that place covered in maggots was so hard for me.

but i know he is in a better place now.

his brother Deimos and i will always miss him.

Hello everyone!

First of all, thanks for all your support words on the past days, sometimes when you focus too much on something (job) you get to loose some parts of yourself, of what makes you a whole. BUT i realized that working hard into something, putting all your heart into it gives you the biggest rewards and satisfactions.


So last week New Warriors01 was released!
I have been working on this title for the past months and i'm very VERY happy with this adventure, the creative team is amazing: the editor is Axel Alonso, his office publishes the X-men family books, Kevin Grevioux, the writer, he's also known for writing the movie Underworld, he made an amazing work for this title. Paco Medina and Juan Vlasco, the super lineart/inking team, who have worked on titles such as Marvel Team Up, Venom, New Xmen and many more, and myself, a lucky colourist who likes poop, coke and dongs.

The book had amazing reviews and is a top selling title- If you have a chance to pick it up , go ahead, its a very nice and fun reading.

Hey, so much good vibe with this title, recently we had some good(excellent) input from Marvel's publisher and and just received the news that New Warriors 01 was a top seller at Atomic Comics and then Diamond ran out of NW01, totally sold out. im so happy and thankfull for this!

On this particular journal update i have one favor to ask, but one thing first, i LOVE to receive notes from you all, i consider them as something really important cuz they are a more personal way to communicate with other people here at DA, if you have sent me a note, THANK YOU, and i'm sooo sorry if i haven't had the chance of replying your note, sometimes when you are on PSHP all day long, the last thing you wanna do is spending more time on the PC.

ok, i LOVE notes, but its a HUEG let down to open a note which reads like this:

"hey tell me how much do you earn and what are your brush settings."

MANNERS!!, can you at least say hi?
can you at least tell me your name first?
and did you know that is SO rude to ask how much someone earns?

Believe me guys, i'm the nicest person when i'm being asked nicely, and i have written LONG emails explaining my methods and giving advise, I DO REPLY, but please be EDUCATED, ask NICELY.

2 minutes more of typing won't hurt anyone and will get you what you want.

im an open book, really, just remember your manners.
